Solution
Milling / Processing

AGS has implemented a CNC robot system for processing wooden panels and moulded parts. A robot moves on a 40-metre linear axis and processes different geometries with changing tools. CAD/CAM data is transferred directly into the processing chain.

Project highlights

  • 20 kW milling spindle with 14,000 rpm
  • 40 m FullCover linear axis
  • CNC post-processor for CAM data
  • Tool changing system
  • Vacuum table for workpiece holding
  • Integration into a continuous CAD/CAM process chain

Application & machining processes

  • Milling, drilling and sawing in one workspace
  • Vacuum clamping of components
  • Robot machining along the 40 m axis
  • Automatic tool selection per machining order
  • Machining of complex contours and series components

Operating & control concept

  • CNC-based robot control
  • CAM interface for machining data
  • Operation via robot handheld terminal
  • Automatic tool management

Safety concept

  • Completely enclosed machining area
  • Light barriers and safety fencing
  • Central Emergency Stop
  • Machine safety concept for the entire workspace

Result

  • High precision
  • Large usable processing area
  • Flexible processing of different geometries
  • End-to-end digitisation from CAD to robot
