AGS is currently implementing a special-purpose system for the automated spot welding of expanded metal cassettes with peripheral webs. The system combines welding technology, precise robotics and a well-thought-out operating concept.
🔄 Different component sizes are processed in the system. The expanded metal cassettes are spot-welded with two to four circumferential webs. A robot on a linear axis serves two machining stations, each with two clamping units, and carries out the welding process with high precision and repeatability.
⚙️ Precise handling is ensured by a dynamic servo-mechanical clamping unit. It clamps the workpiece, moves it into the correct position, and thus creates the basis for consistent quality and reproducible results.
👷 Loading, removal, and insertion of the bars are performed manually by operators. While one workstation is being set up, welding can already take place at the other.
- 1 robot. 2 processing stations.
- Alternating setup and processing.
💻 Operators maintain a full overview of the process at all times via intuitive operation with status and warning messages. Product-specific recipe parameters allow saved settings for different product variants and support fast, safe changeovers.
🧠 Forward-thinking even before the physical commissioning: simulated in advance, implemented quickly. This allows processes to be checked early on, interfaces to be prepared and commissioning to be made more efficient.
✅ The result is a flexible, safe, and process-stable spot welding system for various component variants. A solution that enables reproducible quality and automates demanding metal processing.
